On Monday the 1st of May my husband and I celebrated our 6th Wedding Anniversary. I cannot quite believe we have been married for so long – it seems like yesterday that I walked down the aisle to the man of my dreams, the one who would not wear a jacket nor a tie to say I do. What an adventure the last 6 years have been, we have lived in 4 different houses, 2 different cities and gone on an array of incredible adventures.
The traditional gift of 6 years of marriage is either Iron, Wood or Sugar. What better way of celebrating love, marriage and SUGAR to attend a high tea at the esteemed Mount Nelson in Cape Town.
What a wonderful experience – from the lady at the front desk who took my booking to the lovely waitresses who looked after us so well, to the pastry chefs (who we did not see) but made the best treats and eats. Thank you to all of you.
I took a few photographs but did not manage to take as many as I would like as we were too busy laughing, chatting, eating far too much and just celebrating.
This is my one in a billion <3
I am Banting but I decided for this celebration to forego the sugar free diet however they did still cater for a gluten free high tea for me which was incredible. The gluten free high tea selection included scones, mousse cake, cheesecake, marshmellow, macaroons and more. What a treat! We walked around the beautifully manicured gardens to help us burn a few calories of all that we consumed earlier and the cutest little squirrel showed us how to bury an acorn and how to find an acorn that he had previously buried.
Thank you to my bestest friend for such a spoil. It was a truly special gift celebrating with a high tea at the Mount Nelson.
